Where this family sits and what it is for
F5's entry x86-class rSeries application delivery controller — one 1U appliance sold as two licensed models, r4600 and r4800, which differ only in unlocked CPUs, BIG-IP tenant ceiling, throughput and compression path. 4x 10G/1G RJ45 plus 4x 25G/10G/1G SFP28 in a single port group with three mutually exclusive speed modes. No FPGA, no hardware DDoS engine and no NEBS Level 3 listing on this platform — those belong to the r5000/r10000/r12000 rungs. The BIG-IP module entitlement is fused into the appliance part number: there is no bare hardware SKU and no separate base-licence SKU.
